Altenew Festive Silhouettes Holiday Card

Hi there! It’s been A LONG WHILE since I’ve made a card! Ever since I started my full-time job at Nordstrom as an analyst, I pretty much have been an analyst by day, and an analyst by night. Please allow me to talk about my job for a bit since I haven’t been connected to you guys for SO LONG!!!

I have been a marketing analyst for two years now. That means I get exposed to new brands, new products and new ideas at our company. It’s very exciting and interesting area to work in! Also, since I’m a data nerd, I get to analyze businesses and how they’re performing in store and online. I follow customer behavior on the website and figure out why people buy or don’t buy certain things. It’s indeed a very interesting job and it keeps me from feeling bored because I am learning new things everyday. I feel very lucky to be able to work there and I absolutely love my job ūüôā

OK! Now onto the card. I’ve been itching to make a holiday card so here we go!

Christmas Card 2018

Christmas Card 2018 3

I love the graphic design of Altenew’s Festive Silhouettes Stamp Set. It can make a really graphic card by repetitive stamping. You just need to balance things out by being mindful of where to place the stamps. I heat embossed the images onto some Canson Watercolor Paper by using white embossing powder. After that, I blended over the whole card with Pine Needles Distress Ink. To make snow, I splashed the card with some water droplets and white acrylic paint. You can stop here if you’re satisfied but I’d love more texture, so I added some stitch lines using the MFT Stitched Strip Die-namics.

To finish off, I embellished the card with some hemp cord and two Jingle Bells. For the card base, I have used MFT Primitive Cream Cardstock and I blended some Tea Dye Distress Ink on all four edges of the card. I then ran a pair of scissors along the edges of the card front to make it more rustic. Lastly, I simply foam mounted the card.

What do you guys think? Yay or Nay? Wishing you guys a Wonderful Holiday Season! Thank you for stopping by and sticking with me. It feels good to create again ūüôā

Beach Illustration Drawing

Hi friends! I recently went to Hawaii with my hubby for a get away and I came back with lots of inspiration to draw. First up, I’m case-ing (aka copying and sharing everything) one of my favorite illustrators, Lisa Krosnova (Her Instagram here). I’m learning so much by copying her lines and coloring! I had so much fun making this little drawing! Here is my drawing.

20180610_211610-6

This is Lisa’s drawing as my reference.

I used Copic Multi-Liner for the line art and then colored with Copic markers. I tried to follow Lisa’s colors but I don’t have everything that she used, so I improvised a little with what I already have. Below is a list of all my supplies used.

STAMPtember Blog Hop & Giveaway

STAMPtember HOP 600x264

Hi friends! It’s STAMPtember time and we all know this is huge!!! For my card today, I used the super cute Picture Book French Bulldog Die. I went with a pop art inspired design with a soft twist.

DSCN0006.2-10-11 sharp.jpg

To create my card, I die cut some paper with the Picture Book French Bulldog Die and used them as stencils. Then, on my watercolor card base, I blended in 15 different shades of distress inks. This is so fun and it only took me 10 minutes! For the bull dog, I colored parts of the images with Copic Markers and left some parts white. For my coloring, I only used three shades РE97, E15 and W5. Easiest coloring ever!

For the sentiment, I die cut some black card stock with the You’re A Star Word Die. To pull everything together, I used a piece of vellum to mute down the background.¬†I also added a drop shadow for the bulldog to pop. Finally, I gave the bulldog a pair of sunglasses to go with the “You’re a star” theme ūüôā

Hello friends! Welcome to Krumspring 1 Year Anniversary Blog Hop! I am so happy to take part in this amazing event! Congratulations to Maria who have started her wonderful company and now it’s one year old already! I’m so happy for her and proud of her achievement! For my card today, this is what I came up with.

DSCN9982-10.jpg

On a piece of watercolor paper, I white embossed my floral pattern using the Bloom Stamp Set. Then, I blended¬†Barn Door,¬†Fossilized Amber,¬†Seedless Preserves,¬†Crushed Olive,¬†Pine Needles and Broken China Distress Inks. After that, using a wet paint brush, I lifted and added colors to create texture and depth. I also added some white paint splatters. Finally, I die cut the watercolor panel with MFT¬†Wonky Stitched Rectangle STAX to get my favorite stitching detail ūüôā

To finish the card, I white embossed the sentiment from The Necessary One Stamp Set on black card stock and mounted with foam tape.
